The walk begins at the old town hall at 24 Hauptstraße in Neuenhaus. From there, the route takes the group past the Mühlenkolk, the Dinkel and Schwanensee, before heading towards Lage. A break is planned at the Malle Mühle – a quiet café with a Dutch feel in Lage. Here, walkers can rest and have a bite to eat. From there, the route takes you back to Neuenhaus via the Eichenallee and the River Dinkel. The return route also takes in a Dinkel stone and a work of art from the ‘Kunstwege’ art trail.
Participants will walk approximately 13 km, which is expected to take five hours. Easy, partly tarmac-surfaced footpaths mean that people of all ages can take part. The route takes in stunning natural scenery, cultural attractions well worth seeing and rural charm.
