Gerd Koel was elected mayor and expressed his heartfelt thanks for the trust placed in him. He will be supported by three deputy mayors with equal standing: Iris Schothorst, Gerwin van der Kamp and Volker Boll. All elections were passed unanimously. A farewell ceremony for the outgoing councillors and the previous long-serving mayor, Gerda Brookman, will take place on a separate date in a fitting setting.
