Easter fountain - a tradition since 1987

This continues a custom that has been practised in Neuenhaus since 1987. The origin of the Easter fountains lies in regions where water used to be particularly important - the Easter decorations were a way of welcoming spring and asking for a good, watery year.

Many thanks to the hard-working children and teachers of the Johannes day care centre, who once again made the Easter decorations with a great deal of creativity and craftsmanship, as well as to all the helpers who assisted in setting up and decorating the fountain.

The decorated fountain invites many walkers and cyclists to make a short stop every year and has become an integral part of the Easter season in Neuenhaus.
