Playground on Nachtigallenweg in Grasdorf remodelled

A much sought-after slide, enthusiastic children using the various swings and finally an ice cream, which Günter Klümper, head of the Neuenhaus building yard, donated to the children and parents of the Nachtigallenweg/Falkenstraße housing estate. The atmosphere on the newly designed playground was excellent when representatives from the management committee attended the opening.

The estate, which was built between the 1950s and 1970s, has undergone a generational change in recent years. Now there are more and more young families with children who need a modern playground. So the children approached the town council and expressed their wishes in pictures. Together with his colleagues from the building yard, Klümper took up the issue and redesigned the playground in close consultation with the neighbourhood. Some of the older play equipment was redesigned so that it could continue to be used. In addition, new equipment was procured and possibilities for hiding places as well as a seating set were created.

Town manager Günter Oldekamp thanked the children and parents for the initiative and the Neuenhaus building yard for the implementation and emphasised: "Playgrounds are important for the development of children. The town was happy to invest in the remodelling". The administrative staff and committee members present were also impressed by the result and the children's ideas. Carl-Hendrik Staal, Mayor of Neuenhaus, wished the children "lots of fun together at all times in the new playground area".
