The Addiction Week is organised by the SAM Veldhausen addiction self-help group and is carried out in close cooperation with experts and institutions. The aim is to raise awareness of the various forms of addiction, prevent addiction, present offers of help and promote open dialogue. Special emphasis is placed on confidentiality to ensure an atmosphere of trust. The topics range from addiction and self-help to addiction support, alcohol, cannabis (e.g. driving licence withdrawal), drugs, painkillers, media addiction and other forms of addiction. The presentations offer the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information, ask questions and enter into dialogue.
An information stand will be set up in the entrance area of Neuenhaus Town Hall, Veldhausener Straße 26:

Members of the SAM self-help group are available for confidential discussions.
Lectures, discussions and information events on topics relating to addiction will also take place on the following evenings. Here, interested parties can talk to the speakers with their questions about prevention, addiction, withdrawal, self-help in relation to alcohol, cannabis, drugs, painkillers and media addiction. The series of lectures is led by Peter Richter and Petra Scherfer.

The event is being organised in cooperation with Dr Annegret Hölscher, self-help contact point for the district of Grafschaft, and with the support of the mayor of the joint municipality, Günter Oldekamp, and the head of the social welfare office in Neuenhaus, Jens Reefmann.
All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the wide range of programmes on offer. The Addiction Week offers a valuable opportunity to obtain information, find support and find ways out of addiction together. Confidentiality and discretion are guaranteed at all events.
